DermaKinetics
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the service fee for a DermaKinetics treatment?

A: $149 for one session.  Package pricing: Series of 6: $125 ea.; series of 11: $1,000.

Q: What is included in a "DermaKinetics facial treatment"?

A: The DermaKinetics facial is not a traditional facial.  It is an anti-aging and rejuvenating treatment.  It includes an enzymatic cleansing followed by application of powerful peptides to stimulate collagen production. The skin is exposed to the light source to cause transdermal penetration of the serums.  Sunscreens are applied at the conclusion of the service.  No extractions are performed during the service.

An optional, light Retinol peel can be added to a DermaKinetics treatment to enhance the results for $49.

Q: What is DermaKinetics?
A: DermaKinetics is the trademark for LTW International’s “Transdermal Delivery System” – a complete non-invasive transdermal delivery system that includes several medical and technological breakthroughs in the treatment of various conditions including fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, scars and even hair loss.

DermaKinetics is a patented technology that allows skin care professionals to deliver powerful peptides into the skin. Until now, larger molecules such as collagen have been unable to be delivered through the skin’s barriers without being injected or ablating the skin. DermaKinetics enables the delivery of collagen to the very places where it occurs naturally, restoring its levels that have been diminished over time by sun exposure, pollution and the forces of nature.

Q: How does DermaKinetics work?

A: DermaKinetics is a unique and revolutionary new transdermal delivery system that dramatically diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, scars and even cellulite. DermaKinetics utilizes laboratory proven technology to deliver pure optimal formulas to your skin, dramatically decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the overall tone and texture. The DermaKinetics system, together with our professional ABI Dermaceuticals products are a complete skin care system that repairs, protects, renews and revitalizes your skin.

Q: What can be expected during a DermaKinetics session?
A: First the skin is cleansed with an enzymatic wash to remove all dirt and debris. Next a series of serums and creams are applied to the top layer of the skin. Finally, a DermaKinetics light panel is placed over the skin and illuminated. During this time, the skin is then inundated with specific wavelengths and pulses of light to stimulate the molecules within the functional skin care topical to move away from the LED light source and into the tissue. This complete process generally takes 45-60 minutes. Additionally, we highly recommend preparing the skin with 10 minutes of red light therapy prior to performing DermaKinetics. This will help to increase the desired effects.

Q: Do you see a difference after one DermaKinetics treatment?
A: Yes. Even after the first treatment, the skin will show signs of a slight improvement. However, significant changes are obtained with a series of clinical treatments. The full effect is achieved after five to six months of collagen bundle growth.

Q: Is DermaKinetics safe?
A: Due to the non-invasive nature of the treatment, the DermaKinetics system is the safest transdermal process available. This process does not disrupt the corneal layer and therefore does not open the skin up to potential environmental stressors.

Q: Are there any contraindications I should be made aware of?
A: DermaKinetics should only be used with topicals specifically provided for that purpose. Skin should be otherwise clean and free of other products. Formulations developed for DermaKinetics contain generally recognized as safe components. However, treatment should be stopped if any skin sensitivity is suspected.

Q: Can you use light therapy and Microdermabrasion with DermaKinetics?
A: Yes. In fact, the DermaKinetics systems are compatible with most other non-ablative and ablative treatment modalities. Most of these systems will increase the desired effects of DermaKinetics. DermaKinetics treatments are routinely used after laser resurfacing therapy to aid in healing and reduce swelling.

Q: Can DermaKinetics reduce the appearance of large pores?
A: Yes, collagen production is stimulated through the action of the peptides being delivered into the tissue and surrounding cell structures, which in turn thickens the skin and tightens the skin’s surface.

Q: How is DermaKinetics better than other systems?
A: DermaKinetics utilizes patented technology that allows the delivery of both revitalizing small and large molecular weight functional ingredients into the skin. This remarkable system, does not damage the skin, or alter the formulation being delivered. This cutting edge science makes it one of the most important advancements in the skin care industry in recent years.

Q: Do I need to use the retail ABI Dermaceuticals kit also to get the desired results?
A: We recommend daily use of ABI Dermaceuticals topicals to help support and enhance the DermaKinetics treatments. This will allow the most dramatic results to be achieved. DermaKinetics will still deliver great results by itself, but if you do not use high quality skin care products with clean formulations to protect and hydrate the skin, the results can be less evident and will not last as long

Q: Can I use DermaKinetics with other skin care products?
A: No, only topicals specifically developed for DermaKinetics should be used. Most common skin care formulations have excess amounts of non-functional ingredients, fillers, stabilizers and preservatives. Because of the skin’s natural barer function, many topically applied compounds simply lay on top of the skin so the excessive non-functional ingredients have little potential for harm. The DermaKinetics system is designed to push topical ingredients into the skin. DermaKinetics topicals are specifically formulated with the absolute minimum of non-functional components providing the “cleanest: skincare products available.

Q: What are the benefits of the DermaKinetics system compared to the Galvanic Spa System?
A: The Galvanic Spa system can only be applied to a small treatment area at a time with intensive provider involvement. The Galvanic Spa system is limited by the types of effective ingredients and the exposure time on any particular skin area. The DermaKinetics system, by contrast, can be applied to large surface areas, including the entire body if required, with minimal labor. The DermaKinetics system can also introduce a very wide range of compounds into the skin without damaging the stratum corneum.

Q: Can I use DermaKinetics on the body as well as the face?
A: Yes, however the treatment time and number of treatments will vary depending on the skin type and texture and problem being addressed.

Q: Can I use DermaKinetics on compromised, sunburned or blemished skin?
A: Yes. Since the treatment is completely non-invasive, you are able to use the transdermal system to speed up the repair process.

Q: Can pregnant women use DermaKinetics?

A: Yes they can, however we do not recommend it purely because there has not been testing done with pregnant women to ensure this.
